Paris-Bourbon County is located approximately 14 miles from I-75, a major north-south corridor, and I-64, a major east-west route. The county’s location places it as the center of a 31 state distribution area. It is also within 600 miles of 50% of the U.S. population, manufacturing employment, and retail sales. There is access to Georgetown-Scott County Regional Airport, Louisville International Airport, and Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Paris-Bourbon County offers both public and private institutions for primary and secondary education, with each offering quality education and extracurricular opportunities.

Bourbon Community Hospital
Paris-Bourbon County is a progressive small-town, nestled in some of the most beautiful landscape in the country, offering wonderful healthcare and recreational facilities to suit your needs. The Bourbon Community Hospital and their specialty clinics cover any and all of the health care needs of the community while offering high quality patient care. The Paris-Bourbon County YMCA is located downtown and since 1913 has focused on healthy living and social responsibility within the community. The YMCA offers many programs, indoor and outdoor pools, studios, fitness centers, and so much more! The Paris-Bourbon County Library provides materials and services to help residents meet personal, education, and professional needs. Their proposed expansion and renovation will be very beneficial to the community.

Paris-Bourbon County Public Library
Housed in a 2017 AIA/ALA (American Institute of Architects/American Library Association) award-winning building, the Library blends history, tradition, and forward thinking to furnish access to a broad and diverse collection of resources to Bourbon County citizens. The Paris-Bourbon County Public Library is committed to providing materials, services, programs/events, and community spaces that inspire civic pride and a joy of learning in the Bourbon County residents. Supporting lifelong learning efforts, the Library offers access to a wide variety of print and digital materials and serves as the community GED testing center.

Bourbon County is one of the leading producers of Thoroughbred horses in the world. More than 50 horse farms are located in the county, including world-famous Claiborne Farm, where Secretariat stood at stud for many years.

Another staple of Paris-Bourbon County is the commitment to preserving the history of this decadent town. Historic Paris-Bourbon County/Hopewell Museum is a committed group of volunteers with the common goal of preserving and spreading the heritage that makes Paris-Bourbon County so special.

Duncan Tavern
Duncan Tavern is a three-story tavern built in 1788 by Major Joseph Duncan four years before Kentucky became a state. Famous visitors included Daniel Boone and Simon Kenton. The building is now the headquarters of the Kentucky Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This location also includes the John Fox, Jr. Genealogical Library. Both the tavern and the library are open April 1 through mid December.

The area is well-noted for its diverse selection of restaurants, antique and retail stores, historic and community attractions, and array of service businesses.

In addition, many visitors enjoy a round of golf at Houston Oaks Golf Course or Shady Brook Golf Course; taking a walk on the paved track at the Bourbon Country Park, which also has a playground area for children; and taking in a movie at the drive-in during the summer (Bourbon County has one of the few drive-ins left in the state).
